Valentine's cookies

Make someone happy with these cookies!

Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

8 oz butter (2 sticks)
10 oz sugar (1 ¼ cups)
1 tsp salt
1 egg
2 oz milk
1 tbs Hawaiian vanilla extract
1 lb all purpose flour (2 cups)
4 oz corn starch (1/2 cup)
1 tbs, 1 tsp baking powder

Frosting
2 cups powder sugar
1 ½ tbs milk
1/8 tsp Hawaiian vanilla

Cream butter in a mixer (or by hand) at low speed for about 5 minutes. (Scrape every 2). Increase speed to high for 5 more minutes. Add sugar and salt until light and fluffy.

Add egg and mix until it is incorporated. Move your batter to a large bowl and start adding milk. Incorporate the milk and sifted dry ingredients (flour, corn starch and baking powder) by hand until barely incorporated. Do not over mix.

Place dough in a greased sheet with parchment paper or waxed paper. Smooth out carefully until flat and put in the freezer for about 20 minutes.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Cut cookies with cookie cutter and place in another baking sheet greased with wax or parchment paper. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Remove from baking sheet and let them cool completely before decorating.

For glace, mix all of the ingredients until they make a smooth paste and garnish the cookies as desired.

Till next time...VANILLA ROCKS!
